The EPA said Monday it plans to fight back aggressively against the potential invasion of Asian carp into the Great Lakes watershed.
“Among the tactics in a $78.5 million, 25-point plan: Navigational locks in Illinois waterways that lead to Lake Michigan will be opened less frequently, and officials will more aggressively search for and kill the fish when they are found,” writes Douglas Belkin of The Wall Street Journal.
“‘We are going to hit the carp with all of the tools in the toolbox,’ said Cameron Davis, a senior adviser with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.”
